Hi, I’m Cherise Richards, aka Reesie, the designer and maker behind Sting Bling.

I started Sting Bling in 2017, and after years of experimenting with different materials and techniques, it has evolved into what it is today: colorful, surf-friendly jewelry made for everyday life in and around the water.

I work primarily with 14K gold-filled and sterling silver, along with colorful beads, pearls, shells, and other materials that catch my eye. I’m drawn to simple metalwork paired with unexpected colors and textures, pieces that feel special without feeling precious. The goal is jewelry you can actually live in: surf, swim, travel, sweat, dance, and generally forget to take off.

I grew up in Oregon but have spent the last 10 years living in Central America, where surfing, tropical landscapes, and beach culture have naturally worked their way into Sting Bling. I love bright color, organic shapes, imperfect textures, and anything that feels a little playful or unusual. My designs tend bounce between simple and statement-making, with plenty of pieces for people who want just a tiny bit of bling too.

My creative background stretches beyond jewelry. I hold a BFA in Dance from UC Santa Barbara and an MFA in Choreography from CalArts, and I also teach yoga for Surf With Amigas. Surfing, movement, art, travel, and the places I’ve lived all feed into what I make.

At its heart, Sting Bling is colorful, unfussy jewelry for people who would rather be in the ocean.
